Caring for your new art chair Thanks for purchasing your new Spicewood design upcycled original art chair. While this is functional furniture, it requires special care. Your chair has original art in the front circle. While the piece has a protective coating, treat is as you would a piece of original art on canvas. · Keep your artworks out of direct sunlight. Your artwork might have a protective layer of varnish, but it is still possible for it to crack or fade if subjected to bright sunlight for long periods of time. · Do not lean anything against the surface of a fabric. Objects near a painting may not seem sharp enough to pierce the fabric, but it is always surprising what will cause a scratch or a rip. · Dust your artworks with a clean, soft rag occasionally to prevent dust buildup. Don't use cleaning products or water!
· Try to avoid subjecting your artworks to extreme changes in atmosphere. Avoid excessive dryness, humidity, heat or cold. All of these conditions can affect the state of your artwork in a negative way (canvas puckering, paint cracking, etc.).
· Do not cover artworks with plastic for long periods of time. If there is humidity in the air, they may start to grow mold. Cotton sheets are best for keeping dust away.
Micro suede Cleaning Techniques Use a hand vacuum to collect any dust, debris or pet hair from the cushions. Vacuum in a crisscross pattern to free anything that has been trapped in the folds and nap of the fabric. Try to vacuum your chair at least once a month to keep the fabric smooth and clean. Brushing your couch removes dust and keeps suede from looking smashed or dull. Always use a suede brush or soft terry cloth – more abrasive brushes can cause scratches or permanent scarring. Revive the suede's nap by gently brushing it at least once a week.
To Remove Stains If you find stains on your micro suede chair, the best technique to remove them is to use white vinegar or rubbing alcohol. Pour a small amount of either liquid on a clean terry cloth. Be careful not to oversaturate the cloth since too much liquid can actually make the stain bigger. Gently rub the stain with the moist terry cloth in a crisscross pattern.
The finish of the chair is chalk paint Use a clean lent free cloth to dust it occasionally.
